About Us

The Association for the Development of Interest in the Indian Subcontinent is a student-run organization at the University of Rochester. Since 1985, we have promoted and expressed the cultural and ethnic diversity of South Asia, which includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. We provide an opportunity for students to interact with and share the history, culture, and experiences of the Indian subcontinent. Over the course of the year, we sponsor and participate in various artistic, academic, and social events. We are an inclusive organization filled with not only students wanting to find a home and a way to express their heritage, but also those who want to learn more about the beauty of both the diverse and shared cultures of the Indian subcontinent!
