Our team makes sure that we are on track with our mission. Active Minds aims to raise awareness about mental health, fight stigma, and promote help-seeking behavior within the campus community.
Below, you will find information on the role and responsibilities of each Executive Board member.
The (co)presidents are the primary liaisons of the organization with the National Active Minds organization, UCC, UHS, and our advisors. They preside over meetings and are responsible for maintaining organization within the group, communicating with other officers and delegating duties to ensure that our Active Minds chapter is on track with its mission. The vice president is expected to assume all the duties of the president in their absence.
The Secretary is responsible for maintaining a current copy of the Active Minds at the University of Rochester constitution open to inspection by all members of this group, Senators, and all members of the Students' Association. The Secretary takes attendance at all meetings, tallies votes, keeps an accurate list of group members and takes and maintains meeting minutes. The secretary is also responsible for keeping members updated via email of upcoming events, serving as the Virtual EMS contact for room reservation and making sure the CCC page is up to date.
The Business Manager is responsible for maintaining all finances and keep detailed records of all transactions. The Business Manager secures funds for the group by updating the budget every year and requesting use of the budget.
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for connecting Active Minds with the campus and Rochester community and informing organizations of our upcoming events.
The Publicity/Education Chair is responsible for organizing publicity campaigns for the group; is responsible for reserving advertising space in Wilson Commons (including but not limited to banner space, tables, and expression wall).; may reach out to campus and community newspapers and other publications about upcoming events. The Publicity/Education Chair also keeps up on current mental health news, nationally and locally, including but not limited to NAMI and Active Minds, Inc.
The Fundraising Chair is responsible for organizing fundraising efforts to meet our chapter's fundraising goals for Active Minds, Inc. This includes planning and leading fundraising efforts.
