At over 6' tall, our trebuchet launched us into 2nd Place at the Annual ASME Pumpkin Launch in Fall 2019! We also received the Best Spirit award in Fall 2022, and competed in Fall 2024. In 2025, we earned 2nd Place in Accuracy for the trebuchet's final competition.
We interacted with middle and high school students participating in a science fair in Spring 2024, exposing them to the wonders of breadboarding and Arduinos!
The Rochester Maker Faire is a convention for makers all across Rochester to come together and show off what they do.
UR Makers has taken part for several years. In Fall 2022, 2023, and 2024 we taught people how to use Arduinos and breadboards to make their own circuits. For 2020, we made an infinity mirror using an old LCD screen. In collaboration with Odyssey Batteries, we created a remote controlled chair for 2018.
Started by a previous president Seth and led by another previous president Tram, team Death by Design competed from 2017-2021. We built robots that fought each other like the TV show Battlebots, on a smaller scale of 150g to 30 lbs.
