Newsletter poll here. [reply]

This is a sample oSTEM Newsletter with short descriptions of our regular layout sections to help you better find content for future reference. This section is our Opener which is usually unserious and may include references to last week’s Highlight as a follow-up, explaining or responding to polls/socials, dramatizing real-life events (identified by an appropriate tone indicator or disclaimer), small messages from our E-Board, welcoming icebreakers, etc.

This/Last Week

This section serves as an Overview of the respective week type, depending on if there’s a GMM the week it’s sent. “This Week” Overviews detail that week’s upcoming events (mainly GMMs), while “Last Week” Overviews recap the last GMM/event and share relevant materials and developments from it.

In The News

• Headline: [Link to relevant article]
This section outlines recent queer news and links to further details/resources if you are interested. News covered includes queer culture, legislature, academia, records, etc. Preceding content/trigger warnings are always included where appropriate.

Queer Highlight

Excerpt/direct quote
- Author (link to text/source)

This section, always concluding our weekly Newsletters, discusses a topical queer gem, usually drawing from concepts of queer literature, arts, etc. Because queer scholarship is often either excluded or sidelined, we think it is important to solidify the “gay agenda” and briefly outline queer theory for the betterment of our members. Here we try to include an excerpt and break down the idea(s) so you can use them in your everyday, queer life (or not, the beauty of the theories is the conversations it starts and improving/correcting each other)!

See you at our next GMM! <3

FORM

oSTEM General Feedback Form

This is oSTEM's main form for you to submit any comments, questions, suggestions, opportunity submissions, and/or feedback. You can choose to submit anonymously (CCC may ask you to log in, but that's just to ensure it's from a UR student, not a random internet person) or share your name/email.

If you run into any issues with the form, please email us at uofr.ostem@gmail.com so we can fix it right away.
