Hey slaying icons! We’re in the wonderful month of April, which means sunshine, extra school work, and becoming the victim of JK Rowling’s online buffoonery (sorry I know this reference is a week late). We’re almost at the end of our rodeo (I know so sad 😭), but rest assured we’re gonna end the semester on the highest of notes.

Last Week + This Week

Thank you to everyone who came to our O4U GMM last week! It was really cool learning about this wonderful conference and how you can apply. As a reminder, Round 2 applications are due on April 28th (Link)! You should highly consider applying, as the experience is really life-changing and affirming; the connections you make and skills you gain from the conference will last a lifetime.

â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹Our final GMM of the semester will be coming up next Wednesday on April 23rd from 7-8pm in the Burgett Intercultural Center (BIC) on the 3rd floor of Douglass! We will be having lavender graduation, celebrating our seniors, and doing karaoke! Please stop by, it will be so fun and bittersweet! If you are graduating next year, either Fall or Spring, please fill out this form if you would like to be recognized at Lavender Graduation, either directly or via a really really nice certificate that we will provide (Link).

- LGBTQ+ Leadership Lecture & Dinner: Register by April 17, 2024

The BIC is hosting its iconic LGBTQ+ Leadership Lecture & Dinner on Thursday, April 24th at 6pm in the Feldman Ballroom and will be featuring Aaron C. Morris, a renowned LGBTQ activist and Executive Director of Immigration Equality. Registration is required and due by April 17th (so you still have time), and they will be serving free dinner from Salena’s Mexican Restaurant! If you’ve attended before, you’ll know the food is good and the speakers are inspiring and very insightful! Our previous eBoard has also had a history of helping to plan the event and we were known to have one of the highest turnouts of any student organization at the dinner, so we hope to continue that trend this semester!
