Want to become more involved with SWE at The University of Rochester?
We offer the opportunity for members to get involved with five different committees led by current Eboard members: Programming/ Events, Professional, Conference and Industry, Community Outreach, and the Publicity committee.
We organize social and bonding events for the club such as Game nights and movie screenings.
The Professional Committee plans events to help build professional skills such as resume and cover letter workshop and interview prep. We also host networking events with organizations with the SWE Rochester section or professors!
This officer is in charge of planning both the Regional and National Conference. This includes applying for funding, registering members, organizing transportation (while considering COVID restrictions), and publicizing the conferences. Additionally, they work on establishing and maintaining network connections in the industry and contacting engineers to talk to the club.
The Community Outreach Committee plans events to engage girls in the Rochester community in STEM activities and inspire them to pursue a career in engineering. These events include a bi-annual workshop and smaller activities.
Publicity committee runs the social medias, posts fun fact Fridays/ weekly engineering memes, and advertises our club events.
