We are the University of Rochester Stingers, a group of passionate softball players from various backgrounds. We recommend having some previous softball experience but the team is open to everyone! Our team is part of the National Club Softball Association which allows us to compete against club teams at nearby schools with the opportunity to earn a spot in the regional and national playoffs. While we enjoy competitive gameplay, our number one priority is making softball fun!
We practice twice a week in the evenings, once during the week and once on the weekend. Practice are 2 hours long and are mandatory for active members. Depending on weather, we meet at Southside Field or in the GAC.
Games are played as a part of the NCSA league. We play 5 three-game series throughout the year, split between fall and spring semesters. Games may involve travel to other schools in the region.
We hold several team bonding social events throughout the year to create a sense of community amongst team members. Some previous activities include movie nights and team dinners.
