About Us

The University of Rochester Royals Dance Team is a group that strives to enrich students through dance as well as support the University of Rochester at athletic and other community/campus events. We aim to allow student expression through dance and choreography while improving their range and skill level in various forms of dance. To inspire student enjoyment and enthusiasm for visual performance; to build leadership skills; mental and physical well-being; work ethic and positive social skills in dance team members.

Member Benefits

As a member of the Royals Dance Team, you become part of a diverse community of dancers with a wide range of experience and interests. Joining our team is a great way to get involved with the performing arts community on campus and is a place where people can come together to better themselves as dancers in a supportive environment.

Events & Activities

We perform at halftime shows and on the sidelines for basketball games. We perform at other dance events and school functions like Inspire Dance. We also perform at our own end-of-semester showcases.

Connections

Royals connects its members to both the performing arts community at the University of Rochester and the Athletics community through performances and collaborative bonding events.

Our members come from a variety of different backgrounds both inside and outside of the studio. We strive to build a inclusive community that connects people from all over campus in their passion for dance.
