About Us

RIA was formed, in the spring of 2007. It is intended to serve as a platform for general social mingling and interpersonal interactions among students of Indian origin at the University of Rochester. RIA aims to foster our cultural bindings and encourage oneness on this campus by creating an ensemble of all graduate, post-doctoral and under-graduate students as a well-knit community. For this purpose, RIA handles various affairs of a social nature such as Diwali Dhamaka, Holi Night, Independence Day celebrations, and many more. In addition, we do our best to ensure a smooth transition in the lives of all Indian newcomers who join us every year and become a part of our small community in this beautiful city of Rochester. But most important of all we try our best to make our time spent in Rochester as a myriad collection of memories worth cherishing for the rest of our lives. We invite all Indian students to become a part of this effort. Your suggestions will always be heard with the utmost attention. Through our collective efforts that we can create a better niche for all of us. For the latest information about our activities, visit http://www.rochester.edu/gsa/ria/
