*COVID-19 Risk Reduction Plan*

As the University of Rochester works to implement operational changes to maintain the campus community health during the COVID-19 concerns, the Food Pantry will continue to stay dedicated to serving and supporting our students. However, in order to reduce risks, the Food Pantry will now be implementing a Grocery Bag pick-up system where orders are placed online via CCC.

Grocery bags can be picked up during scheduled 30-minute intervals on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays between 3:00 and 6:00pm. All orders should be placed by midnight the night before the schedule pick-up.

Please note that during the weeks of December 21-25 and December 28-1 2020 the pantry will be open on Monday and Wednesday and closed Thursday and Friday

Those who are experiencing a food-related emergency, need to place a same-day pick-up order, or may be feeling unwell and should not make a physical pick-up, should email the Food Pantry Coordinator.

About the Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is a University of Rochester initiative dedicated to tackling the rising issue of student food insecurity on campus. According to the Education Advisory Board (EAB), students are food insecure when they face a lack of nutrition in their diet or are unsure where their next meal will come from. It is undeniable that students who do not have to focus on financial stress and food insecurity do better in school. We firmly believe that no one, including college students, should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from.

In the past, we have operated a pilot food program pantry through our Winter and Summer Stay programs. We are happy to announce that we are expanding this work and are now operating a food pantry year-long. Our mission is to meet the necessary food and personal care needs of our Arts, Science & Engineering undergraduate and graduate students so that they can focus on their college experience.
