Through its mission of preparing campus and community leaders through service, Alpha Phi Omega is committed to bringing together college students in a national service fraternity in the fellowship of principles derived from the Scout Oath and of the Law of the Boy Scouts of America; to develop Leadership, to promote Friendship, and to provide Service to humanity; and further the freedom that is our national, educational and intellectual heritage. Founded on the Cardinal Principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service. It provides its members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer on their campus, in their community, to the nation, and to the organization. It is the vision of Alpha Phi Omega to be the premier, inclusive, campus-based, leadership development organization through the provision of service to others and the creation of community.

As a member of Alpha Phi Omega, one can expect to gain insight in Leadership, Friendship, and Service. Alpha Phi Omega teaches individuals how to be campus leaders by providing them with helpful tools on how to run for executive board positions both in APO and other clubs, offering appointed positions for individuals to start finding their leadership style. Additionally, members are taught how to become community leaders by giving them the tools to encourage their peers to give back to their community. APO offers a tight-knit group that encourages friendship through fellowships and families, allowing individuals to become close with all of their brothers in various settings. Lastly, one can expect to break their "campus bubble" by engaging in various service projects in the city of Rochester and its surrounding suburbs. Brothers speak of how humbled they feel to be able to give back to the community they call home.

The Alzheimer's Association is a national organization dedicated to fighting Alzheimer’s disease. It is currently the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research. They work on national and local levels to accelerate global research, spread awareness, fundraise, and fight for care initiatives. Our mission is to honor and represent these initiatives at the University of Rochester to our fellow yellowjackets.

UR Habitat for Humanity shares Habitat for Humanity International's mission of eliminating poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and making decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. The campus chapter seeks to strengthen the University, Rochester, and larger communities through building quality, safe, affordable housing for people in need, raising funds to support building efforts, and learning and teaching about housing issues. Our ultimate (and ongoing) goal is to raise enough money to sponsor a Habitat house. Throughout the year we host a series of fundraising events such as: Shelf-a-thon, Pie Sale, and more. While we work to raise the money to sponsor a house ($10,000), we help build Habitat houses in the Rochester area and every spring break organize a trip to another area that needs help building affordable, reliable housing.

Partners in Reading is dedicated, by means of tutoring, to aiding school children in their learning process. Our goals include bettering the academic experience for school students; promoting higher education by means of tutoring, mentoring, and various activities; and encouraging students to pursue their goals through education. The organization hopes to improve the Rochester community by encouraging the youth to be enthusiastic and motivated about education, and have a mentor to look up to.

University of Rochester Peers for Animal Wellness and Safety (P.A.W.S.) serves to connect University of Rochester undergraduate students with animal service organizations in Monroe County. The purpose of this cooperative effort will be to provide the materials and assistance necessary in order to more efficiently run local shelters and rescues for the benefit of the animals and the eventual establishment of a No Kill Nation. Students will benefit from one on one interactions with animals in an effort to reduce stress and the negative effects associated with attending a competitive university. Students will also learn how to collaborate with other like minded groups and individuals in order to operate in a way that helps to improve the lives of animals in Monroe County.

We achieve this through both fundraising efforts, as well as events to raise awareness about the issue of poverty and education for women. In addition, our chapter hopes to accomplish additional work with girls in the local Rochester community, such as regular tutoring events and after-school activities.

The University of Rochester Special Olympics Organization aims to foster meaningful relationships between the University of Rochester students and the Greater Rochester Special Olympics Athletes through active participation in weekly practices and tournaments. We travel to various locations in Rochester, exposing our members to the wonderful variety that this city has to offer within the service world. Sports include soccer, swimming, basketball, bowling, and track and field. In turn, we push to advocate for inclusion and awareness here on our campus. We also work with the TOUR students in a new program called URConnected, which includes weekly pickup basketball games, volleyball games, and other arts and activities that we can socially participate in with all U of Rochester students.

We fundraise through events like Pie in The Eye, and are also huge advocates for the Polar Plunge, which we send a lot of members to. This organization is multifaceted, and truly strives to foster and motivate awareness and inclusion in every way we can.

We strive to achieve our mission by hosting cost-free educational outreach programs for high school students where they can take classes designed and taught by undergraduates. At UR Splash programs teachers get to teach about anything they want, and students get to choose the classes they take. Teach anything, learn anything!
