PLAY FOR AFRICANZA 2020

At our last GMM Nigel Maister Director of the International Theatre Program at Todd was present to discuss his plans for assisting us with the production of our play for Afrikanza 2020. 
Two suggested plays for this production were Wole Soyinka’s ‘The Trials of Brother Jero’ and ‘The Lion and the Jewel’ both copies of the play are attached for your perusal. Nigel is also willing to work with us on developing our own designed play. If you’re interested in participating in this production (Spring 2020) please add your name to this list.

VISUALIZING EQUALITY: THE STATE OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT

 

Join us this Friday for our weekly GMM. This week we will focus on the state of women's right on the African continent. Come share your view on what women have rights for today and what we should do better as children of the continent.

UR WOMANIST CLUB: GETTING BACK TO OUR ROOTS

The UR Womanist Club invited us to their Fall Speaker Event: Getting Back to Our Roots. The event will be on Wednesday, November 13th from 6:15-7:45pm in Morey 321.

This year, they will be having Tanya Bakhmetyeva as a speaker. She is an Associate Professor of Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies at the University of Rochester and will be speaking about one of her classes, Politics of Nature, in which they'll be focusing on the relationship between gender, race, and environment and the effects they have on one another.

SIP & CELEBRATE : LADIES NIGHT EDITION

On the 15th of November, Forté Campus will be celebrating and recognizing women who dared to stand out as leaders in their respective student organizations.

It will be an evening of light refreshments, fancy drinks, a special Acapella performance followed by a brief award ceremony and an opportunity to connect with other leaders on campus.

Please nominate a woman you believe deserves to be recognized for her hardwork using this link by October 26th.

THETA CHI : PHILANTHROPY EVENTS


Theta Chi will be having their semesterly philanthropy event taking place in Spurrier gym on November 10th from 1-5pm (Sunday). The event is a soccer tournament. P.A.S.A is co-sponsoring the event and will need to make a team of 5 to be able to participate. Each member of the team will be required to pay $5 , and all proceeds will go to USO.
