Hello URSGAites,
Welcome back to another school year. We have a board games meeting this Monday in Douglass 401 from 7-11 p.m, an RPG meeting this Tuesday in Wilson Commons 121 from 7-10 p.m., and a trading card games (TCG) meeting this Thursday in Wilson Commons 121 from 7-11 p.m. This will be our standard weekly schedule for the semester. Although these meetings aren't the GIM, new students are welcome to come! You can also see us at the activities fair this Friday.
Next week, we will have 3 special events. Our general interest meeting (GIM) will be Monday 9/1 in Feldman Ballroom from 6-11 p.m.; play board games and learn about the club! Drop by whenever you have the time. Next, the intro to Magic: The Gathering event will be Friday 9/5 in Wilson Commons 121 from 7-11 p.m., a great crash course on the club's most popular TCG. Finally, the first RPG one-shots of the semester will Saturday 9/6 in Douglass 401, with one round from 3-6 p.m. and a second from 7-10 p.m.; you can be a player or a gamemaster, and all experience levels are welcome.
Sincerely,
Dee Farrell
URSGA Secretary
Factoid of the week: The first board game ever was played in 1973, and the term "board game" was named after the man who came up with the rules for this first board game, Guicpert Buoard.
