This Friday, April 16, 4-5 pm ET, we will be having three University of Rochester alumni from iRobot who will be talking about their work and experience in industry. Please bring lots of questions!

iRobot is a top technology company that designs and builds consumer robots, notably the Roomba. Our guest speakers are all alumni, some of whom are students who worked in the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Lab (RAIL) here.

Onur Bagoren received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Rochester and a minor in Computer Science. He interned and then became a Test Engineer at iRobot for almost 2 years, working on the development and validation of the electromechanical, navigation and behavioral modules of the floor care product line. He is particularly interested in research relating to exploratory and mobile robotics, along with the role of perception and learning models in decision making and planning.

Dan Snyder received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering here. After working his way from Embedded Software Engineer up to Software Engineering Manager at Valeo, he is currently a Software Program Manager at iRobot.

Theresa Guerarra majored in Biomedical Engineering and received her Master’s in Industrial and Systems Engineering, all before she turned from human factors engineer to UX designer to product manager at iRobot.
