TSA is a student organization at the University of Rochester, aimed to promote Taiwanese traditions, customs, and art forms through cultural events and showcases. We aim to provide a supportive and inclusive community where members feel a sense of belonging and camaraderie, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity among our members, whether you call Taiwan home or not!
Our events are deeply involved in promoting Taiwanese culture to everyone. Those that attend our events get their own hand in playing Taiwanese games or making our culture's food.
One example of this is our Winter Solstice, where members and attendees got to fold their own dumplings and eat them with friends. We also cohosted a night market where we had some games you'd expect to see at a stall in Taiwan. You can expect more events like this to come!
Taiwan is largely known for its food culture, so we make sure not to fail in that department. Many of our events are centered around cultural cuisine. From traditional barbeques to simple dumplings and dessert, we cook up a feast each time!
Find some time to spend with us in the Community Kitchen where we host our Moon Festival BBQ and other events!
Some of our events require volunteer assistance. It's a great chance to get more involved with our team and get extra food! Stay on the lookout on our Instagram!
We occasionally have general member meetings where you can hang out with friends and become a part of our culture! Recently we ventured off campus to a cafe to chat and eat.
