Thanks to everyone who could make it to our GIM last night, we had an amazing turn out and filled up our attendance sheet! For those who couldn't make the GIM this week, don't sweat it, at this point we'll have near weekly meetings every Sunday at 6pm in the Humanities Center room as always!
For those who are not yet in our club Discord here is a direct link (https://discord.gg/2seatSBQ) so that you can come in an talk to us. Previously I would've asked you to join so that we could beat the College Democrats' discord in membership, but we did it! Rochester Valorant, you're next. If you've only gone to one meeting so far you'll be marked as a non-member, but as soon as we've seen you more then once you'll get full member permissions and get access to the EBoard chat, as we in SDS seek to make our organization as horizontal as possible. Following that idea, as always, our EBoard meetings are Saturday nights at 5pm in Gennese 321 and are open to all members.
Finally, following the index card activity, I went through and tallied folks' interests for making change on campus. Obviously this list isn't expansive as most people only wrote one issue, and I cut out the issues with two or less mentions, but I think it's an interesting poll of how our new/current membership is feeling and what we care about! So, without further adue, here's the results:
Student Housing | Tuition | Accesibility | Workers Rights | Campus+City Community | Transphobia | Fraternities | Dining | |
Mentions | 6 | 5 | 5 | 4 | 4 | 3 | 3 | 3 |
Anyways, see you all next Sunday,
Somes.
