About Us

We're a community service organization dedicated to broadening the University's outreach to local refugee communities while contributing to the health and vitality of Rochester. Through the recruitment and training of volunteers and collaboration with other organizations, RSA provides aid to existing organizations involved with the local refugee community. The secondary mission of RSA is to promote concern and awareness in the University's student body about refugees through our volunteer programs, fundraising, and community service events on campus for the local refugee community.

Since 2009, we've offered multiple volunteer opportunities for University of Rochester students and staff to foster community relations. Specifically, we've volunteered at and worked with Refugees Helping Refugees (http://rhrroc.org), Mary's Place (http://www.marysplaceoutreach.org), Rochester International Academy (http://www.rcsdk12.org/Domain/6307), and Carlson Tutoring. We're working on expanding our horizon, and strongly encourage you to participate in these volunteering efforts!
