Mission Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on January 5th, 1911 on the campus of Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana. The fraternity, originally called Kappa Alpha Nu, was established by ten African-American men partly to provide an alternative to the racially exclusive student organizations on campus, and partly to strengthen the bonds of friendship among these and other African American students. Today, the fraternity has over 700 undergraduate and alumni chapters across the world, exceeding over 150,000 brothers in total. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. prides itself on its five main objectives:1. To unite college men of culture, patriotism, and honor in a bond of a fraternity2. To encourage honorable achievement in every field of human endeavor3. To promote the spiritual, social, intellectual, and moral welfare of its members.4. To assist in the aims and purposes of colleges and universities.5. To inspire service in the public interest.The Upper Echelon Xi Epsilon Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on December 7th, 1991 by seven men at the University of Rochester in Interfaith Chapel. Since its chartering, brothers of Xi Epsilon have worked effortlessly to foster community, camaraderie, and fidelity at the University of Rochester and in the Greater Rochester community.
