You'll be introduced to key components of total compensation, including pay structures, paid time off, retirement benefits, and employer-sponsored perks like health insurance and education reimbursement. You'll learn more about how retirement plans work (such as employer matches, pensions, and pre-tax vs. Roth contributions), as well as how to compare different health insurance options and accounts like HSAs and FSAs. The session also highlights important financial concepts—like deductibles, copays, and tax implications—bringing you a step closer to making informed decisions when choosing between job offers and planning for your financial future.
This program is designed to be open to any and all University of Rochester students regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law. We recognize the intersectionality of individual identities and recommend that you join any program to explore your career interests, connect to networks, and discover helpful resources.
