Networking is not about asking for a job. It is about building relationships that grow over time.

In this interactive workshop co-hosted by Studio X and the Greene Center, you will learn how to approach networking as a long-term, authentic process rather than a one-off transaction.

The session will be led by Karp Library Fellow and current senior, Gayatri Shetty, who has successfully navigated an internship with Sony Interactive Entertainment's PlayStation division. You will hear what actually works when networking, what feels awkward but matters, and how to build connections that last beyond a single opportunity.

You will leave with a clearer understanding of how to start conversations, follow up meaningfully, and develop professional relationships that support your goals over time, not just your next application.

Come ready to participate, ask questions, and think differently about how relationships shape your career.

These programs are designed to be open to any and all University of Rochester students, faculty and staff regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law. We recognize the intersectionality of individual identities and recommend that you join any programs that you identify with to explore your career interests, connect to networks, and discover helpful resources.

If you need disability-related accommodations, please email Eugene Mont (emont@rochester.edu) at least 3–5 business days before the event.
