About Us
Formed in 2021, the REJI Organizing Coalition is a project of University of Rochester undergraduates Adam Hollies, Katie Thomas, and Carolyn Richards. Inspired by the advocacy work of Precious Bedell, the Coalition's goal is to harness the energy of the student body to contribute to the decarceration of our community. Working to bridge the gap that too often separates students from the community, the Coalition seeks to connect students to local and statewide criminal-justice reform efforts. Through our work, we strive to promote awareness, provoke discussion, and build lasting collaborations with other community members engaged in this important fight.
