Miles Perry: National Coming Out Day!
The Paul J. Burgett Intercultural Center with co-sponsors presents: Miles Perry!  October 11, 2023 at 7:30pm.

Miles Perry is a passionate HIV activist dedicated to making a difference in the field of HIV prevention. Hailing from Rochester, NY, Miles embarked on his journey in public health as an intern at the Rochester Victory Alliance in 2015. Since then, he has tirelessly contributed his expertise to several prominent health and advocacy organizations, including Gender Dynamix, Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation, Corner Health Center, and Mocha Center.

 While at the U of R Miles was in several organizations he was in Douglass Leadership House where he created the Black Emporium, he also served as No Disclaimers Head Laureate, where they created X Agenda and served as President of Pride Network where they saw the creation of Queer Students of Color, Anything But Cis and the House of Marsha. Along with Queer Ball and brought the Vogue Ball to the U of R.

Currently, Miles serves as a Subject Matter Research Consultant at the Institute of Digital Health at the University of South Florida, where he passionately engages in community outreach and recruitment for mobile health projects, especially at pride and ballroom events. He also plays an active role on various boards in his new home of Charlotte, NC.

Miles proudly holds the position of Director of Youth Operations for CCharlotte Black Pridde and serves on the Community Advisory Board for RAIN. He is also a dedicated member of the Infectious Disease Youth Council for FHI 360. 

 Notably, Miles recently completed a fellowship at Communicate Health, where he held the role of Health Literacy Fellow. During this fellowship, he spearheaded a groundbreaking capstone project titled "Beyond Status," which focuses on assisting Black queer individuals in making informed decisions regarding PrEP, showcasing his commitment to health equity and advocacy.
