Interested in the intersection between climate change and social justice? Come join UR Science Policy Initiatives for the first installment of our environmental justice (EJ) series. At these workshops we will have guest speakers talk to us about climate and environmental justice at both a national and local scale followed by breakout sessions for small group discussions. This first installment will focus on how graduate and medical students can get involved, even as temporary residents, in advocating for their local communities as well as a brief introduction to some of the key issues relevant to the city of Rochester and Monroe County.

Climate Solutions Accelerator

Brady was born and raised in the city of Rochester and is excited to be making a local impact on the international challenge that is climate change. He is especially motivated by his family and friends in the Republic of Kiribati, who are likely to be displaced from their islands in the Pacific Ocean by climate change impacts. To build the movement for climate justice, Brady also volunteers with Citizens' Climate Lobby and Returned Peace Corps Volunteers for Environmental Action. When not working on climate solutions, he enjoys spending time with his two kids and his wife, along with coaching basketball, running, and biking.
