As members of the University of Rochester community, we are committed to our own individual health and safety, the health and safety of the University community, and that of our broader Rochester community; we will act in ways that preserve our own health, the health and well-being of our University community, and that of our neighbors in the city of Rochester and surrounding area. We agree to follow the latest University requirements and guidelines, and understand that if any member of our community does not follow health guidelines and requirements, it affects the ability of others among us to work, teach, research, and learn safely. We recognize that COVID-19 places extraordinary responsibilities on all of us; every one of us has the responsibility to act in ways that reduce the potential spread of this virus. We agree to this shared commitment, which is based on directives from New York State and from public health experts. #URcommitment
Due to the increased number of COVID-19 cases in Monroe County, SMD leadership have decided not to allow in-person events by GEPA or student/postdoc organizations. We greatly regret the need to do this, but feel it's important to be extra vigilant during this time for the sake of our entire community. For the time being, the UR PDA will continue to host all events virtually over Zoom.
The UR PDA is involved in the Coronavirus University Restart Team (CURT), representing postdoc concerns and needs. CURT provides guidance and strategic coordination for the planning and redesign efforts of the University's schools and units, including academic affairs, research recovery, and general operations.
