"Promoting Voting Rights: From the 19th Amendment to the 2020 Election"
The 2020 election is taking place under unprecedented circumstances, amidst the first pandemic in a century, social unrest, and sweeping changes in election laws. This event will reflect on the centennial of the passage of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote, and project that history onto the present moment and the need to ensure full participation in the 2020 election. It will also showcase a new system to facilitate voter registration and mobilization.

Panelist titles:
Jean Pedersen, Associate Professor of History and of Humanities, Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester
Annie Rosenow ‘22, Chair, Voter Outreach Subcommittee, Committee for Political Engagement, Rochester Center for Community Leadership
