This workshop would take some of the core Stage Management duties involved in running a theatrical production and extrapolates how that process mimics and can support the management of any team endeavor from running a lab to developing a new product for industry. The Theatre presents a microcosm of the world of team (and product) development. Often considered a "fun activity"--the actual work involved in managing a theatrical process takes intuition, specialized skills and knowledge, emotional intelligence, time management and outstanding interpersonal skills, not to mention detailed and continual problem-solving and crisis management. The workshop would not only aim to develop students' skills, but also to raise awareness of how the creative process and its management might benefit students from all academic areas of inquiry.
