If you're a University of Rochester student, faculty, or staff member living with chronic pain and looking for tools to feel better, you're not alone. Chronic pain affects over 50 million adults in the U.S. and more than 2/3 of U of R students reported seeking care for chronic pain in 2024. It significantly impacts overall quality of life, academic performance, work productivity, and teaching effectiveness, highlighting the urgent need for accessible, evidence-based support.

The Healing from Within 4-week Mindful University Project series offers practical, research-backed mind-body approaches to managing chronic pain. The program explores Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy, and mindfulness techniques—tools shown to help people rewire how the brain interprets pain and support long-term healing.

The program will be held on Thursdays, April 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th from 6:30-7:45 PM. Please note this is an educational program and is not a substitute for medical treatment.
