1st Gen Society is committed to providing a brave and welcoming environment to all first-generation, low-income students, and allies. The mission and purpose of the club will be to serve, provide, and enhance the personal and academic experience of participating students on campus. From all backgrounds, we aim to connect members as a community united by the vision of equality and pride in our diverse identities.
Our members have access to a range of benefits from Career Development, to Networking, to a Developing Alumni Network, and so much more. More than anything, we provide a space for FGLI (First-Generation, Low-Income) students to feel accepted and supported at our University!
We plan events that cater towards the needs of FGLI students to prepare them for the work force/, graduate school, fellowships, internships and beyond!
With strong connections with the David T. Kearns Center and the Office of Minority Student's Affairs, we offer super unique career development opportunities!
As FGLI students, we understand the struggle of being at a private institution. Therefore, we develop close relationships between students and alumni for support!
