Garden of Hope is an all-day exhibit that raises mental health awareness and inspires action for suicide prevention. Over 1000 pinwheels are set up in the Wilson Quad in remembrance of the 1,100 college students who die by suicide every year. Active Minds and other awareness and health groups will be tabling to connect viewers to mental health resources. Active Minds volunteers and mental health professionals are there to help students recognize signs of suicidal ideation, find the courage to talk to loved ones with the V-A-R approach, and start conversations that seek to eliminate stigma on this campus.Signs and materials set up around the pinwheels encourage help seeking and emphasize care and community.
