The Clothesline Project is a visual display of shirts with messages and illustrations that have been designed by survivors of violence or by someone who loves and/or supports a survivor of violence. The purpose of the Project is to increase awareness of the impact sex or gender-based violence has on our campus. This is not just a women’s project, the project contains shirts created by all members of our University community.

Every shirt on display reflects the personal experience of its creator and may contain graphic material including: swear words, explicit violent or sexual descriptions, drug references, or other statements surrounding the trauma the individual faced.

Because our goal is to break the silence of violence, we do not censor the shirts. We support and encourage survivors in their healing process and this display is intended to be a safe place for survivors and loved ones of victims to share their story in an honest way. Please proceed carefully and do not hesitate to reach out for support if needed.
